Phase 1 Donica Road Sewer Extension Project construction begins the week of March 30 with four major areas of work completed this spring by our construction partner Albanese D&S Inc. and their contractors:

March 30 – May 29

• Directional borings for the gravity main, force main and Anthony’s service lateral under Route 1
• Laying the gravity sewer and force main along the westernmost southbound lane on Route 1
• Drilling for blasting associated with the sewer trench on Donica Road. Anticipated times for blasting are during the week of April 12, updates will be provided. Drilling requires a 1-lane traffic pattern on weekdays 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Access from both ends of Donica Road will be available and will keep traffic impacts to minimum
• Installing the sewer main and service laterals to the property line; additional updates will be provided in early May

As with any project, there may be adjustments to timing

York Sewer District is proud to partner with Albanese on the Donica Road Sewer Extension. They specialize in large-scale complex heavy civil construction that involves utilities, deep excavation and road construction.

Albanese brings a skilled professional workforce to our partnership that includes laborers, heavy equipment operators, truck drivers, and mechanics.

The Donica Road crews are efficiently scheduled to work on both Donica Road and York Water District’s spring project at the Nubble. The crew will alternate between the two project sites based on the blasting schedule.
